Our ‘Backwards competition’ – launced through Mental Overdrive’s “You are being manipulated” album in 2008 – now has a winner.
The lucky man is one Victor Ixelles of unknown origin, who will receive our total future output for free for his entire lifetime.
There is a twist, though, as the embedded backwards message on the last track on the album, “End”, should read:
This is because the honoured Norwegian electronic music festival won the contest to get their own exclusive message embedded in a song on the album in the first place – through an eBay auction in January 2008.
Victor’s suggestion, on the other hand, read:
Which is quite wrong, but still well creative.
Because of this, and because of the fact that no-one else got even close to solve the riddle – some even found backwards messages in other tracks on the album (go easy on the Ajax, will you please) – our friend Victor wins the price.
